Skip's Edtech Jobs: April 20, 2024

Thank you for reading the EdSkipper, Skip’s newsletter about skipping from education to education-aligned careers. Every Saturday, I send out a list of featured remote jobs curated from 300+ companies each week. Premium subscribers receive access to all jobs in the Edskipper database and two additional emails a month with advice to help you apply more competitively.

I think we’re past Spring Break for everyone and on to the final home stretch of the school year.

On the company side of the education industry, the PLS rush has subsided. Companies are still posting their harder-to-fill roles, which are typically located in specific geographic areas. And many of those roles remain open so if you’re looking for a summer role and are open to heavy in-person work, there are some good opportunities available.

I’m still seeing roles looking for educator or edtech / higher ed or edtech experience. This is typical of the spring hiring season: companies know educators are applying and want to make sure that they have the opportunity to hire people who have first-hand experience of how dramatically teaching has changed over the past few years.

But overall, I am seeing fewer jobs being posted for educators versus a month ago. I continue to track how companies are responding to the teacher exodus and one clear trend is that they are aligning parts of their regular hiring calendar to align with the end of the school year. So that means March is a particularly busy time. This isn’t to say that opportunities aren’t available year-round — companies don’t cluster hiring to certain times of the year as schools do. But they are taking advantage of a wider hiring pool when they can.

~I hope you find some fantastic jobs to apply to this weekend,
